After the huge success of our Eco Fayre in 2019 , we're organising Dorset’s first Zero Waste Christmas Fayre to welcome in the festive season is on Saturday 13th November, Bournemouth Collegiate School will be filled to the brim with Christmas spirit, local businesses, seasonal activities, and refreshments, all with a sustainable twist.
This year more than ever, people are looking for ways to be kinder to the planet. And Christmas is no exception. The holiday season can be very wasteful, with lots of single-use plastic and far more festive food than you could possibly eat. The Zero Waste Christmas Fayre on Saturday 13th November between 10.30am and 3.30pm. The fayre will celebrate the sustainable groups and businesses in the local area, see the list below. There will also be stalls for the Dorset Wildlife Trust, the Dorset Devils, and make-your-own Christmas crafts. Visitors can support the local community, get into the Christmas spirit, and pick up some tips and tricks on how to stay sustainable during the holiday season all in one place. Alongside ideas and workshops there will be plenty of opportunities to do a little Christmas shopping and enjoy some festive food and drink too. FABRIC AND FLORA
Vintage terracotta pots have been used where possible. Minimal transport as they are grown in Bournemouth. Reusable gift and tote bags are made from recycled and repurposed fabric. Fabric sample books was the source of some of the fabric. Fairies and bunting are made using recycled, rescued fabrics. Many of these are vintage linens destined for the rag bag but the beauty of the hand stitching and handmade lace has been repurposed to preserve these beautiful skills for future generations. Fabric and crochet flowers. Recycled fabrics, recycled yarn, recycled terracotta pots. Paper products are made from recycled newspaper, music sheets and wallpaper sample books.

This charity is saving enormous amounts of plastic from going to landfill by recycling hard-to-recycle items via Terra Cycle while raising money for different local charities. They have a number of monthly collection points throughout Dorset.
