BRING YOUR OWN TAKEAWAY CONTAINERS
In the bid to reduce single use plastic we have set up the 'Bring your own container' scheme, to help reduce single use takeaway containers.
How does it work?
Local businesses sign up to the scheme and put the BYO Sobo-sticker in their shop window (to the left) to show that they are happy for people to bring their own reusable takeaway containers when buying food and drinks at their restaurant or cafe. Businesses can also consider if they want to give a small discount to those who bring their own.
.
There are many BENEFITS to participating businesses besides saving the planet of unnecessary plastic and waste; saving money in takeaway containers, be featured as being part of a new green takeaway movement.

TIPS when you order a takeaway using your own containers
- When you call in the order, make sure you tell the restaurant that you would like to bring your own containers.
- Ask them what time you should be there.
- Bring as many containers as the number of different dishes you order.
- Normally you will arrive 5 mins or so earlier than if you didn't BYO.
- Upon arrival give them your containers.
- The staff will fill your containers while you wait at the restaurant.
