Sobo Jumble Stroll

Our first event of 2021 a great way to reuse and recycle you're unwanted good.

People will be selling and or giving away their unwanted items from their doorstep on Sunday May 30th 2021 between 11am and 3pm as part of the first Sobo Jumble Stroll. Tables will be set up with everyones surplus stuff outside their house for you to stroll by and buy.

​3 Steps to Zero Waste

In Deember 2019 we launched THREE NEW INITIATIVES in Southbourne

1) BRING YOUR OWN CONTAINERS SCHEME (BYOSobo) - Aimed at reducing the number of single use containers ending up on landfill. By placing a sticker in the window you'll be able to indicate you're happy for customers to bring their own containers.

2) REFILL SCHEME - Reducing single use plastic bottles: by signing up you let people know you're happy to fill up their water bottles. Again a sticker plus an app this time so people can find you and know you're doing good things.

3) PLASTIC FREE SOUTHBOURNE - We're after Business Champions and all you need to do is identify and swap 3 items of single use plastic.. We've alreay got a few businesses in the pipeline. If you want to get involved, but can't make it to the event, message us for further information.

​Sobo Eco Fayre

With nearly 30 stalls from local groups, businesses, artists and musicians, and more than 700 people coming through our doors on the day, our very first ECO Fayre exceeded our expectations!

Businesses Making a Difference 

Our second event was held at Velo Domestique Cycle Cafe in Southbourne Tuesday 30 April.

The event intended to inspire local businesses and work places to become more environmentally sustainable; reduce waste generally and move away from single use plastics.

It was very succesful, with a range of different local businesses sharing their journey of making their business more environmentaly sustainable. Very inspiring and and proving that there is lots of good practice locally.

​We had our first event on
'Reduce Waste and Recycling' 
Tuesday 26th of February 2019
​at Terroir Tapas restaurant in Southbourne.

The event was fully booked and with lots of environmentally conscious people, it was a great success!!
