BECOME A LESS-WASTEFUL PARTNER

​Our goal is to get as many local businesses as possible to reduce their waste, single use plastic and overall carbon foot prints and inspire others to do the same.

As a partner we hope you can inspire other local individuals and businesses to join us in the process of reducing the carbon foot prints of our local community.

To become a partner you must commit to making some green changes. 

Here as some examples of changes some of our partners have made.

Suggestions to on how to reduce your business' carbon foot prints

You don't have to do all these changes  ... every little helps!

  1. Stop using plastic straws
  2. Stop using plastic bags
  3. Stop using plastic-based take-away containers
  4. Encourage customers to bring their own tea, coffee, soft drink refill cups 
  5. Encourage customers to bring their own take-away containers
  6. water at your premises
  7. ​Source your food ingredients locally
  8. Support other small local businesses by buying or selling their products
  9. Serve plastic free tea and coffee 
  10. Stop selling drinks in plastic bottles
  11. Stop selling food in plastic wrapping
  12. Where possible buy plastic free products from retailers
  13. Stop using paper towels in the loos
  14. Stop using disposable napkins​
  15. ​Buy second hand if you can
  16. Use soap bars or refill options for hand wash rather than soap that come in plastic
  17. Compost your food waste
  18. Don't use individually plastic wrapped portion size sauces 
  19. Switch to an energy supplier that provides energy made from renewable sources
  20. Use search engine Ecosia for your business' online searches and help combat deforestation
  21. Sign up to City to Sea's Refill Scheme and allow customers to refill their water bottles with tap
  22. Support us in providing us with venues and other resources as necessary to run our events
